M.R. Snyder Company has completed the succesful DC drive system retrofit for a leading paper companies largest paper machine. The system incorporated Siemens a Totally Integrated Automation solution including 6RA70 DC drives, S7300 PLC, TP277 HMI's, and a WinCC SCADA system. A total of 16 DC drives were replaced with a total 4,200 connected horsepower. A new press section torque sharing scheme allows the paper machine to come up faster after felt changes.
A leading aluminum manufacturer has utilized M.R. Snyder Company to design and implement the drive and control system for a used tension leveler recently installed in the plant. The system utilized ten Yaskawa AC flux vector drives with a total of 2,400 connected horsepower connected common DC bus and coordinated over Profibus via the PLC. The entire line control and functionality was also coordinated via the PLC and HMI.
A synthetic fiber producer had over 150 winders with obsolete drives and discrete controls that needed to be replaced. For budget reasons they could only replace the drives as they failed with a new drive solution. M.R. Snyder Company developed software in an AC drive that not only controls the winder speed, tension, and diameter build, it also utilizes the I/O on the drive and controls the discrete functions of the air panel for running and doffing.
M.R. Snyder Company recently implement a Siemens Totally Integrated Automation solution for a large air bag scour range. The system architecture included Siemens AC Master Drives, S7400 PLC with sfaety integrated for e-stops and burner management, and WinCC SCADA system with Web Navigator for client HMI's at the line.
