Flying Splice Turret Winder with Slitter and Roll Handling
M.R. Snyder assisted in the development of a new winding machine where the customer needed the ability to change winder rolls without stopping the line and desired a Rockwell solution. A flying splice turret winder was used with an AB ControlLogix safety processor and Powerflex 755 drives. Safety was emphasized and incorporated utilizing safety mats, light curtains, and magnetic gate interlocks. The entire system was designed for use in Canada on a 575V system with cUL approval.
